Acorn TV has announced its commission of a third season for the viewer-favorite mystery series, Signora Volpe.

Signora Volpe follows Sylvia Fox, a disillusioned British spy-turned-detective in Italy, played by Emilia Fox (Silent Witness, Delicious).
Season 3 of the mystery series, which started production in the Lazio and Umbria regions of Italy last week, will consist of three 90-minutes episodes. The season opener follows on from that omg! final episode of Season 2, and finds Sylvia back to enjoying her life in Italy, but still waiting for answers from her ex-husband, Adam Haines (Jamie Bamber, Beyond Paradise, Strike Back), about certain parts of his past dealings.
Case wise, we’ll see Sylvia investigating the murder of the owner of a local winery, and probing the mystery of a beautiful young man found dead in the bed of a power couple who claim never to have seen him before. Meanwhile, Sylvia’s relationship with Carabinieri Captain Riva (Giovanni Cirfiera, Ford v Ferrari, Impeachment: American Crime Story) deepens, but the finalization of his divorce and his desire to set down roots in Umbria threatens Sylvia’s sense of independence. In the final episode, Sylvia experiences an emotional crisis as someone close to her suffers a violent death, and Adam returns, injured and in danger, to ask for Sylvia’s help… and test her loyalties to the limit.
Also returning for the new season are Tara Fitzgerald (Belgravia, Game of Thrones) as Sylvia’s sister, Isabel Vitale; Elena Di Cioccio (Kostas) as Brigadiere Roberta Barzini; Matteo Carlomagno (All the Money in the World, Don Matteo) as Matteo Vitale; Marianne Leoni (The Price of Family) as Raffaella Tasso; and Imma Piro (The Bastards of Pizzofalcone) as Antonella Vitale. Also back in her recurring role as Miriam Cavendish is Buffy Davis (Doc Martin, The Night Manager).
A production of Acorn Media Enterprises from ITV Studios-backed production company Route 24, Signora Volpe is created and written by the team of Rachel Cuperman and Sally Griffiths (Midsomer Murders), who executive produce alongside Emilia Fox. The executive producers are Marc Samuelson, Josie Law, and Robert Cheek for Route 24; Catherine Mackin and Bea Tammer for Acorn Media Enterprises; Simon Cox for Banijay Rights; and Cristina Giubbetti (Domina) for Cattleya, which is providing Italian Production Services. Matthew Bird (Boat Story) produces. Emmy® nominee David Evans (Domina, Preacher, Downton Abbey) directs the full season.
Acorn TV maintains the world premiere with exclusive rights in North America, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and Latin America. Banijay Rights, the global distribution arm of content powerhouse Banijay Entertainment, will distribute in the rest of the world.
Stay tuned for updates about the Season 3 premiere date. In the meantime, catch up on Seasons 1 and 2.
