Acorn TV announced today the US and Canada premiere date for The Crow Girl, a new noir mystery-crime thriller series. Check out the trailer.
Adapted from The Crow Girl, the best-selling and award-winning Nordic noir novel by Erik Axl Sund (pen name of Swedish author duo Jerker Eriksson and Håkan Axlander Sundquist), the new whodunit television series, The Crow Girl, stars Eve Myles (Hijack, Keeping Faith), Katherine Kelly (The Long Shadow, Protection), and Dougray Scott (Sherlock & Daughter, Crime) in the lead roles.
In the six-episode psychological crime thriller, DCI Jeanette Kilburn (Myles) and partner DI Lou Stanley (Scott) hunt the killer of young men. The investigation leads Jeanette to eminent psychotherapist Dr. Sophia Craven (Kelly), who provides her with vital information about a suspect. When Jeanette uncovers the body of a missing child, she finds herself searching for the mysterious Victoria (Clara Rugaard, Black Mirror), as she and Sophia go down the rabbit hole into a dangerous world of historic abuse and murder.
The Crow Girl premieres in the US and Canada on Monday, September 8, exclusively on Acorn TV. New episodes will drop weekly through October 13.
Costars include Victoria Hamilton (The Crown) as Superintendent Verity Pound, Elliot Edusah (Django) as DC Mike Dilliston, Chloé Sweetlove (Bergerac) as Madeleine Burkeman, Raphael Sowole (The Sandman) as Alex Kilburn, Winston Sawyers (Lord of the Flies) as Joe Kilburn, Michael Lumsden (Professor T) as Ben Burkeman, and Karen Ascoe (Grace) as Mary Burkeman.
A production of Buccaneer in association with ITV Studios, the series is created, written, and executive produced by Milly Thomas (River City, Clique). It is executive produced by Erik Axl Sund, Federico Ambrosini, Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, and Niclas Salomonsson, along with Buccaneer’s Richard Tulk-Hart and Tony Wood. Andy Mosse serves as producer, with Charles Martin directing Episodes 1-3 and Rebecca Rycroft directing Episodes 4-6. ITV Studios handles the distribution of the series.
