BritBox announced today the premiere date for Riot Women, a star-studded new drama series from multi-BAFTA Award winner Sally Wainwright. Check out the trailer.

Set and filmed in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, Riot Women follows five menopausal women — a teacher, a police officer, a pub landlady, a midwife, and a shoplifting freeloader — who form a punk rock band to take part in a local talent contest. In the process, they find that they have a lot more to shout about than they ever imagined. And as they become closer, the teacher, Beth, and the freeloader, Kitty, discover a surprising, heartbreaking connection.

Taj Atwal (Line of Duty), Chandeep Uppal (Holby City), and Macy Jacob-Seelochan (Shadow and Bone) costar as Nisha, Kam, and Miranda, the band’s riotous backing singers.
