Apple TV+ announced today that Slow Horses, its award-winning, viewer-favorite spy thriller series, is returning with a seventh season. (Hooray!)

With Season 5 of Slow Horses arriving on September 24, it’s clear that Apple TV+ is all in on its Emmy® and BAFTA Award-winning series with today’s announcement about Season 7. (Season 6 was announced last year.)
The seventh season of this darkly comedic spy drama is adapted from the novel Bad Actors (affiliate link), one of the more recent titles in Mick Herron’s “Slough House” book series. Leading the cast once again is Academy Award® winner Sir Gary Oldman (Darkest Hour, Mank, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), who stars as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but cantankerous leader of a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents whose career-ending mistakes got them exiled to a dumping ground department of MI5 known un-affectionately as Slough House.
The six-episode Season 7 sees Lamb and his Slow Horses on the hunt to find and neutralize a mole at the heart of British Government before they can bring down the state.
Season 7 is adapted for television and executive produced by Ben Vanstone (All Creatures Great & Small, A Gentleman in Moscow), with Robert McKillop (Ludwig, Guilt) set to direct. The series is produced for Apple TV+ by See-Saw Films (part of the Mediawan group), with Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Dan Hassid, Mick Herron, Gail Mutrux, Douglas Urbanski, and Oldman serving as executive producers.
