What better way to start winding down 2024 than with the brand-new season of Miss Scarlet, the hit period mystery-crime drama starring Kate Phillips (Wolf Hall, The Crown) as Eliza Scarlet, private detective.
In Season 5, Eliza’s agency is thriving and her professional life is on a successful path. However, not all is peachy keen in her personal life: William Wellington, aka the Duke, has been away in New York for several months, and Eliza is forced to make a difficult decision. Meanwhile, a new Detective Inspector comes to Scotland Yard — Alexander Blake (Tom Durant-Pritchard, The Crown, Tom Jones) — and Eliza must navigate building a relationship with him if she’s going to continue having access to police resources.
Miss Scarlet: Season 5 premieres in the US as a six-episode streaming binge on Sunday, December 8, at 12am ET/PT, on the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel, PBS Passport (the streaming benefit for members of their local PBS stations), and the PBS app.
The broadcast premiere of the new season happens on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at 8pm ET/PT (check your local listings), on PBS member stations, including including PBS SoCal and WETA, both of which (amongst other stations) will be offering the early streaming release of Season 5 to their members via Passport.
In addition to Kate Phillips, also reprising their roles are Evan McCabe (Doctor Who) as Detective Fitzroy, Cathy Belton (Hidden Assets) as Ivy, Felix Scott (Our House) as Patrick Nash, Paul Bazely (The Ipcress File) as Clarence, Simon Ludders (Bridgerton) as Mr. Potts, and Tim Chipping (Outlander) as Detective Phelps.
