Apple TV+ announced today the second season of Criminal Record, the acclaimed thriller starring Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo.
Set in the heart of contemporary London, Season 2 of the taut thriller Criminal Record features the return of two brilliant detectives — Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Hegarty (Peter Capaldi, Doctor Who, The Thick of It) and Detective Sergeant June Lenker (Cush Jumbo, The Good Wife, The Good Fight) — who clash once again in a complex murder investigation.
In the second season, June is the senior officer on the scene when a political rally is attacked by far-right counter-protesters. The violent clash leaves a young man dead, and June, consumed with guilt, is desperate to bring the unknown killer to justice. It seems as if her best hope is Daniel, now a key figure in the shadowy world of police intelligence. He may have the answers she needs, but to get his help, she will have to accept a dangerous bargain.
Filmed in London and produced for Apple TV+ by Tod Productions and STV Studios, Season 2 of Criminal Record is executive produced by Elaine Collins (Shetland, Vera) and Chris Sussman (Trying, Good Omens), alongside series creator Paul Rutman (Vera, Inspector Lewis), Capaldi and Jumbo.
The premiere date for the second season has not been announced yet. Stay tuned for updates.
The complete first season of Criminal Record is now streaming on Apple TV+.
