NATIONAL PREMIERES
Antiques Road Trip: Season 27 (UK)
In the brand-new season of this popular factual series, teams of antiques experts, including Raj Bisram and Irita Marriott, Izzie Balmer and Mark Hill, Hettie Jago and David Harper, Natasha Raskin Sharp and Ishy Khan, and Phil Serrell and Catherine Southon, travel in vintage cars to various parts of the UK in search of treasures and curiosities they can sell for a profit at auctions. (Video is from Season 25)
Antiques Road Trip: Season 27 premieres in the US on Monday, July 1, on the PBS Living Prime Video Channel.
Grace: Season 4 (UK)
John Simm (Crime, Life on Mars) returns as tenacious Detective Superintendent Roy Grace in this Brighton-set mystery-crime drama series based on the best-selling “Roy Grace” series of crime novels by Peter James. The new season consists of four feature-length episodes that costar Richie Campbell (Top Boy, Liar), Zoë Tapper (Liar), Craig Parkinson (Line of Duty), Laura Elphinstone (Chernobyl), Brad Morrison (Dinosaur), and Sam Hoare (The Capture). Also featuring in Season 4 is Robert Glenister (Sherwood, Hustle).
In “Dead Man’s Time,” Grace and Branson (Richie Campbell) investigate a robbery where thousands of pounds worth of beautiful antiques were stolen from a secluded house. As Grace digs deeper, he unearths a web of ancient grudges, leading him down a dark, murderous trail as he races against the clock to untangle who is at the heart of this robbery. “Want You Dead” sees Grace and Branson investigate a case where nothing is as it first appears. When an unidentified victim is found dead in curious circumstances, the post mortem reveals more questions than it does answers. As Grace works to identify the body, hoping this might provide some crucial clue as to the killer’s motive, he soon has another death on his hands when a second victim turns up in central Brighton, discovered in similarly bizarre circumstances.
Grace and Branson are thrown into what is possibly their most disturbing and high-profile case yet in “You Are Dead,” when skeletal remains are unearthed by workmen digging up a path in central Brighton. Meanwhile, across the city that same morning, a victim is snatched in broad daylight. With no witnesses and no sign of who took her, Grace starts to suspect whether the victim’s fiancé is lying to the police. And in the final episode, “Love You Dead,” a known Brighton burglar is found dead in his car in gruesome circumstances. Although his wife claims he had turned over a new leaf, evidence suggests the victim may have been up to his old breaking-and-entering tricks on the night he was killed. As Grace and the team delve deeper, Roy receives a call from a US police contact about a crime abroad that bears the hallmarks of a mafia hit. The police are keen to trace a woman they believe to be from Brighton, who could be in danger. As Roy scours the city to help find her, it becomes apparent he isn’t the only one looking for this mysterious woman.
Grace: Season 4, a BritBox Original, premieres in North America on Tuesday, July 2, exclusively on BritBox. New episodes will drop weekly through July 23.

The Responder: Season 2 (UK)
Inspired by the real-life experiences of author, screenwriter, and former police officer Tony Schumacher, this gritty cop drama stars Martin Freeman (“The Hobbit” trilogy, Breeders, A Confession, Sherlock) as Chris Carson, a cop on the night beat in his hometown of Liverpool. Chris drives a frontline response vehicle and, night after night, faces crime, violence, and addiction on the streets while his personal demons threaten to destabilize his work, his marriage, and his mental health. Being forced to take on rookie partner Rachel Hargreaves (Adelayo Adedayo, The Capture, Timewasters, Some Girls) only adds to his unrelenting stress.
The second season picks up six months after Season 1 left off. Carson is busy trying to better himself as a police officer and as a father to his daughter, Tilly (Romi Hyland-Rylands, For Her Sins). However, the recurrent trauma of the night officer beat continues. So, in an effort to finally free himself, he seeks a day job. Meanwhile, having been dragged into the mud by her partner, Rachel is attempting to rebuild her life. She begins the season furious with Chris, but, after going on to work with a series of “normal” coppers, Rachel finds that she has more in common with her former partner than she’s perhaps willing to admit.
Costars in the new season include MyAnna Buring (The Witcher), Emily Fairn (Mary & George), Faye McKeever (After the Flood), Adam Nagaitis (The Terror), Ian Puleston-Davies (Pennyworth), and the late Bernard Hill (Wolf Hall), amongst others.

As Harald (Leo Suter, Sanditon) aspires to become King of Norway, Leif (Sam Corlett, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) searches for the Golden Land and Freydis (Frida Gustavsson, The Witcher) seeks a happy life for her people. But before they can set sail for new horizons, they must travel back to where it all started for one last battle.

The Serpent Queen: Season 2 (US)
Based on Leonie Frieda’s best-selling book Catherine de Medici: Renaissance Queen of France, this biopic-historical drama series tells the story of Catherine de Medici (Samantha Morton, Harlots, The Walking Dead), who, against all odds, became one of the most powerful and longest-serving rulers in French history. Joining Morton in Season 2 is Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting, Chevalier) as the infamous “Virgin Queen” Elizabeth I.
In Season 2, Catherine de Medici is Queen Regent of France, now that her son, Charles IX (Bill Milner, A Small Light), has come of age. Distracted by the personal conflicts of the Valois children, a new mysterious prophet named Edith (Isobel Jesper Jones, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) gains a loyal following, who vow to challenge the current religious establishment, sparking tension across the country. Feeling threatened by the rising strain, the divided court turn to their own schemes for selfish benefit. The Guises commit unholy acts while the Bourbons turn to a familiar foreign sovereign, Queen Elizabeth I of England, in hopes of personal gain. As France falls into political and religious turmoil, Catherine struggles to maintain her power, but The Serpent Queen will do whatever she needs to regain control.
The Serpent Queen: Season 2 premieres in the US at midnight on Friday, July 12, on the Starz app. On linear, it debuts on Starz on the same date at 8pm ET/PT in the US and at 9pm ET/PT in Canada. (Read this article for further details about the Season 2 cast.)

Planet Earth: Mammals premieres in the US on Saturday, July 13, at 8pm ET/PT, on BBC America, with streaming available on the same day on AMC+. New episodes will drop weekly through August 17, with a special “making of” episode airing on August 24.

Signora Volpe: Season 2 (UK)
Filmed on location in the picturesque Lazio and Umbria regions in Italy, Signora Volpe stars Emilia Fox (Silent Witness, Delicious, The Pianist) as Sylvia Fox, a high-ranking British spy whose physical prowess, investigative skills, surveillance expertise, and proficiency as a markswoman have made her exceptional at solving mysteries. However, she is also a disillusioned spy, one who starts a new, quieter life in the Italian countryside, only to have a local case of murder and blackmail lure her back into investigative work. (Trailer is from Season 1)
At the end of Season 1, after having fallen in love with Italy and re-established bonds with her sister Isabel (Tara Fitzgerald, Game of Thrones, Belgravia), Sylvia decided to resign from her job at MI6 and start a new life in Umbria. But old habits die hard, so while Sylvia is no longer in MI6’s employ, her unique skill set and appetite for solving mysteries remain undiminished. Over the course of Season 2’s three feature-length episodes, Sylvia finds herself investigating the murder of a pillar of the local community, and going undercover for MI6 at a perilous house party by the lake. Then, a dead man comes looking for vengeance, and Sylvia’s family must race against the clock to save her life.
While restoring justice to the local community, Sylvia is joined in all three episodes by her extended family, with whom she’s reestablished a connection: Isabel; Isabel’s husband, Matteo (Matteo Carlomagno, All the Money in the World, Jumper); their daughter, Alice (Issy Knopfler, Before We Die, Silent Witness); and Isabel’s mother-in-law, Antonella (Imma Piro, The Bastards of Pizzofalcone, A Case of Conscience). Sylvia’s relationship with handsome Carabinieri Capitano Riva (Giovanni Cirfiera, American Crime Story, Queen of the South) also grows stronger, but as she continues to interfere in his investigations, he finds himself both frustrated and grateful for her help. Nicholas Farrell (The Crown, The Iron Lady, Chariots of Fire) guest stars in two episodes as a mystery guest.
