Based on A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, the best-selling YA novel by Holly Jackson, the six-episode whodunit thriller series A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder follows Pip Fitz-Amobi (Emma Myers, Wednesday), a 17-year-old student who delves into the mystery of who really killed a popular high school student in her small town five years ago.

Actually, there were two victims: Andie Bell, officially declared to have been murdered by her boyfriend, Sal Singh, who then took his own life. Everyone in town, cops included, believes he did it. Everyone but Pip. Five years on from the double tragedy, smart and single-minded Pip isn’t convinced that it really was Sal who killed Andie and sets out to prove it. But if he didn’t, then the real killer is still out there. And if they find out that Pip is digging into their dirty deed, how far will they go to prevent Pip from learning the truth?

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder premieres in the US on Thursday, August 1, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)

Commissioned by the BBC, the series will premiere in the UK and Ireland in its entirety on BBC iPlayer starting Monday, July 1. It will debut on linear BBC Three with two episodes on Wednesday, July 10, at 9pm BST.

The cast includes Zain Iqbal (Why ME?), Anna Maxwell Martin (Motherland), Gary Beadle (The Gentlemen), Mathew Baynton (Ghosts), India Lillie Davies (Bridgerton), Rahul Pattni (Casualty), Henry Ashton (My Lady Jane), Mitu Panicucci, Orla Hill (A Confession), Ephraim O.P. The series is produced by Moonage Pictures, one of BBC Studios’ invested production labels, in co-production with ZDFneo and Netflix. It is adapted by Poppy Cogan (Red Rose) and directed by Dolly Wells (The Outlaws).
