UP Faith & Family has set the US premiere date for Season 17 of the popular family drama series Heartland and offered news about the show’s upcoming fanfest.
Set in the rolling foothills of the Canadian Rockies, Heartland, the longest running one-hour drama in Canadian television history, follows the goings-on in the life of Amy Fleming (Amber Marshall, Hudson, Monk) and her family at their horse ranch in the (fictional) town of Hudson, Alberta.
In Season 17 — which includes the milestone 250th episode — the Bartlett-Fleming family finds themselves excited for the future and ready to embrace new adventures, challenges, and relationships. But no matter how much things may change, Amy, her sister Lou (Michelle Morgan, Stargate: Atlantis), their grandfather Jack (Shaun Johnston, Wynonna Earp), and their father Tim (Chris Potter, “The Good Witch” movies) continue to fight for what they believe in while staying rooted in the land that has been in the family for generations.
Heartland: Season 17 premieres in the US on Thursday, April 25, exclusively on UP Faith & Family, with new episodes dropping weekly both before and after the three-week break following Episode 5.
The first-ever Heartland FanFest, a virtual event that allows fans to be an integral part of the Season 17 release on UP Faith & Family, will be held on Monday, April 15, from 2-3pm ET. Heartland super fans can join online and submit questions through social media for cast members to answer them live at the event. Participants will also get a sneak peek at an upcoming episode. Seats are limited, and online registration at HeartlandFanFest.com is required. Once registered, attendees will receive a link to join the event on a date closer to the actual event.
Cast members Amber Marshall, Michelle Morgan, and Chris Potter are expected to appear at FanFest, with other guests to be announced in due course. FanFest will be recorded and available exclusively to UP Faith & Family subscribers during the aforementioned three-week hiatus. More information will be announced soon.
Based on the best-selling series of “Heartland” novels by Lauren Brooke, the series is executive produced by Michael Weinberg, Tom Cox, Jordy Randall, and Mark Haroun, along with co-executive producer Dean Bennett, and produced by Jess Maldaner. It is written by Mark Haroun, Ken Craw, Caitlin Fryers, Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke, and Adam Hussein. Season 17 directors include Dean Bennett, Ken Filewych, Chris Potter, Michelle Morgan, Kristin Lehman, and Madison Thomas.
