MGM+ has announced that it has greenlit Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue, a new mystery-thriller limited series written by Anthony Horowitz.
Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue is an MGM+ Original limited series created, written, and executive produced by the prolific author and screenwriter, Anthony Horowitz CBE (Alex Rider, Magpie Murders, Foyle’s War, Agatha Christie’s Poirot).
The six-episode mystery series follows the story of nine strangers who, while traveling from Guatemala to the US, find themselves lost in a remote Mexican jungle after their small plane crashes. One by one, the survivors are murdered, leaving the remaining passengers to solve the terrifying mystery before they, too, fall victim to the killer.

“I loved writing Nine Bodies in A Mexican Morgue, which I think may be the twistiest story I’ve ever come up with. It’s not just a question of who is committing all these murders — it’s why and I hope audiences will enjoy the truly ‘killer’ ending.”
(Hmm, could Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None have inspired his story?)
The series will feature an ensemble cast, amongst whom is Primetime Emmy® winner Eric McCormack (Will & Grace, Travelers, Perception), who will play Kevin, a former doctor who has been purchasing medical supplies in Guatemala.
A production of Eleventh Hour Films, a Sony Pictures Television (SPT)-backed company, Nine Bodies in A Mexican Morgue will have a British broadcast partner, details of which will be announced later.
In addition to Anthony Horowitz, Jill Green and Eve Gutierrez of Eleventh Hour Films will also executive produce the series.
Filming of Nine Bodies in A Mexican Morgue starts this May in the Canary Islands.
Sony Pictures Television will distribute the series worldwide.
