AMC+ released today first-look photos along with a few plot details from the third and final season of the hit crime drama Happy Valley. Check them out.
Created by critically acclaimed screenwriter Sally Wainwright (Gentleman Jack, Scott & Bailey), the highly-anticipated final season of multi-BAFTA Award-winning crime drama Happy Valley will see Sarah Lancashire (Julia, Last Tango in Halifax) return to her iconic role of Sergeant Catherine Cawood for six new episodes.
Also returning are James Norton (McMafia) as Catherine’s nemesis, the murderer and sex-offender Tommy Lee Royce; Siobhan Finneran (Downton Abbey) as Catherine’s sister, the recovering addict Clare Cartwright; and Rhys Connah (The White Princess) as Catherine’s 16-year-old grandson, Ryan.
In Season 3, when Catherine discovers the remains of a gangland murder victim in a drained reservoir, it sparks a chain of events that unwittingly leads her straight back to Tommy Lee Royce. Her grandson, Ryan, is now sixteen and still living with Catherine, but he has ideas of his own about what kind of relationship he wants to have with the man Catherine refuses to acknowledge as his father. Still battling the seemingly never-ending problem of drugs in the valley and those who supply them, Catherine is on the cusp of retirement.
The new season will also see the return of Happy Valley favorites Ishia Bennison (At Home with the Braithwaites) as Joyce, Shane Zaza (Press) as Shaf, Chord Melodic (Coronation Street) as Sledge, and Mete Dursun (Cold Feet) as Gorkem. They join returning cast members Con O’Neill (Chernobyl) as Neil, George Costigan (Gentleman Jack) as Nevison, Charlie Murphy (Peaky Blinders) as PC Ann Gallagher, Derek Riddell (Industry) as Richard, Karl Davies (Chernobyl) as Daniel, Susan Lynch (Save Me) as Alison, Rick Warden (Indian Summers) as Insp. Mike Taylor, and Vincent Franklin (Doc Martin) as DSU Andy Shepherd. New cast members include Amit Shah (The Other One), Mark Stanley (Sanditon), and Mollie Winnard (All Creatures Great and Small), along with Oliver Huntingdon (The Rising), Jack Bandeira (Sex Education), Alec Secareanu (God’s Own Country), and Anthony Flanagan (Gentleman Jack).
