Netflix has announced a sequel to the film Enola Holmes, for which Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill will reprise their roles.
Based on the beloved six-book “Enola Holmes Mystery” series by Nancy Springer — of which the first and fifth books were nominated for Edgar Awards — Enola Holmes puts a dynamic female twist on the world’s greatest detective and his brilliant family.
The films tell the story of Sherlock Holmes’s rebellious teen sister, Enola — a gifted super-sleuth in her own right who often outsmarts her famous siblings, Sherlock and Mycroft.
Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things, Intruders) stars as Enola Holmes and Henry Cavill (The Witcher, Man of Steel) costars as Sherlock Holmes.
Said Millie Bobby Brown:
“I can’t wait to collaborate again with my Enola Holmes family! Enola holds a special place in my heart – she’s strong, fearless, intelligent and brave. I look forward to fans seeing how her journey continues!”
The sequel, which is being developed and produced by Legendary in partnership with Netflix, will also see the return of Emmy® and BAFTA Awards winner Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, Killing Eve, Ramy) as the director and BAFTA and Tony Awards winner Jack Thorne (National Treasure, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) as the writer.
The producers are Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, and Ali Mendes from Legendary, and Millie Bobby Brown and Paige Brown through their PCMA Productions shingle. The executive producers are Joshua Grode for Legendary, Michael Dreyer, Harry Bradbeer, and Jack Thorne.
Enola Holmes was released globally by Netflix last year, and an estimated 76 million households tuned into it (for some or all of the film) during the first 28 days. (I watched it from start to finish and loved it.) Check it out if you haven’t already seen it.
Stay tuned for updates about the sequel.
