Ovation TV picked up the US broadcast rights to Hooten & the Lady and Season 2 of Riviera from Sky Studios, and from DCD Rights the non-exclusive US broadcast rights for both seasons of McCallum, miniseries Missing, TV movie The Poison Tree, and all three seasons of Rebus that star Ken Stott. The latter set of programs will air during the network’s “Mystery Mornings” programming block in 2020.

Hooten & the Lady

This action-adventure drama follows two treasure-hunting partners — British Museum curator Lady Alexandra (Ophelia Lovibond, W1A, Mr. Sloane) and Hooten (Michael Landes, Silent Witness, Traitors), a charismatic and roguish American adventurer — in a series of global treasure-hunting escapades.

The eight-episode drama costars Jessica Hynes (There She Goes), Shaun Parkes (The Accident), Jonathan Bailey (Broadchurch), and Jane Seymour (Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman).

Hooten & the Lady will begin streaming on JOURNY, Ovation’s AVOD travel and culture channel, in summer 2020.

McCallum: Seasons 1 & 2 (Complete)

This mystery-crime drama series stars John Hannah (The Mummy, Four Weddings and a Funeral) as Dr. Iain McCallum, a motorcycle-riding forensic pathologist who solves crimes at St. Patrick’s Hospital in London’s East End with the help of his team.

Costars include Zara Turner (The Brief), Richard Moore (Emmerdale), James Saxon (Vanity Fair), and Richard O’Callaghan (Dalziel and Pascoe). Guest star Nathanial Parker (Inspector Lynley Mysteries) leads the final special episode.

Missing

Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Swedish crime fiction author Karin Alvtegen, this miniseries stars Joanne Frogatt (Downton Abbey, Liar) as Sibyl Foster, a homeless woman who becomes the prime suspect in a string of murders after police find evidence that unmistakably links her to the crimes. During the investigation led by DS Doug Duvall (Gregor Fisher, Rab C. Nesbitt), the detectives discover that Sibyl is actually the daughter of a prominent public figure and an escaped inmate of a psychiatric hospital.

Costars in the two feature-length episodes include Dean Andrews (Last Tango in Halifax), Ralph Ineson (Chernobyl), Pip Torrens (The Crown), Phyllis Logan (Downton Abbey), and Christopher Fulford (A Confession).

The Poison Tree

MyAnna Buring (The Witcher, Ripper Street, In the Dark) stars in this thiller as Karen Clarke, who reunites with her partner Rex (Matthew Goode, A Discovery of Witches, The Good Wife) after his 12-year prison stint. Now that he is free, she is looking forward to settling down to normal family life in their remote seaside cottage with their 11-year-old daughter. But Karen’s plan is upended when she starts to receive silent phone calls and anonymous texts that indicate someone, somewhere, knows the truth about what she and Rex did.

Costars in the feature-length drama include Ophelia Lovibond (Elementary), Lex Shrapnel (Harlots), Patrick Baladi (Stella), and Naomi Bentley (Primeval).

Rebus: Seasons 2-4 (Complete Ken Stott)

Based on Ian Rankin‘s “Inspector Rebus” novels, this Scottish noir crime drama stars Ken Stott (Fortitude, The Missing, An Inspector Calls) as Detective Inspector John Rebus, a tough, hard-drinking, and womanizing investigator who tackles crime on the mean streets of Edinburgh while battling problems in his personal life. From small-time criminals to haunted cases from the past, Rebus’s investigations lead him through the city’s ancient beauty and into its more sinister quarters.

The ten Ken Stott episodes of Rebus (versus the four John Hannah ones that precede them) costar Claire Price (Home Fires) and Jennifer Black (River City).

Riviera: Season 2

The second season of this thriller opens directly after that shocking Season 1 finale, with widow Georgina Clios (Julia Stiles, Hustlers, Dexter) still angling for power in the Clios family while also trying to get away with murder. What’s more, the truth about Georgina’s past in America gets revealed, as the newly-arrived Eltham family bring plenty of secrets of their own.

Joining the cast are Juliet Stevenson (Retribution), Poppy Delevingne (Genius), Jack Fox (Sandition), Grégory Fitoussi (Beecham House), Alex Lanipekun (Troy: Fall of a City), and Will Arnett (Arrested Development).

Riviera: Season 2 will air on Ovation in Q4 2020.

Stay tuned for updates, including Ovation’s launch dates for the shows.
